HC07 has been and gone and a great time was had by all. We walked miles and miles (and miles) and only got lost once or twice. The weather was fantastic yet again and the company was even better. This year HC07 was enjoyed by 237 delegates, who came from 23 clubs, including for ladies from a club from Spain. As well as Spain our delegation also included 2 ladies from Holland Harmony, 1 from Norway and 1 who was just somebody's mum who fancied a weekend away and threw herself into everything all weekend!

Our faculty of 20 taught or presented 61 (yes sixty one!) classes or rehearsals in just one weekend!

Our final performance on Sunday afternoon saw 177 of our ladies perform in either their own quartet, one of our fantastic choruses, or as an MC from Anita's MC Master class - you really did all make me very proud, but I have to admit to being ridiculously proud of the stunning performance of the Youth Chorus that brought a real lump to my throat (trust me that's no mean feat!). Well done to every single one of you - performers and faculty alike!

I have to take this opportunity to say several very specific 'Thank you's' in public:

  • To Joe Hunter and John Ward for doing the business as our Special Guests!
  • To After Hours for being absolutely everywhere, with complete quality for the whole weekend - what stars you are girls!
  • To every single one of our teaching faculty - and while everybody made a very significant contribution I have to single out Nicky Salt for rewriting her classes four days before Harmony College to help cover somebody else's absence and Liz Whittall for postponing her move to Canada (where her dream man is waiting for her!) until after Harmony College just to help us out!
  • To Joyce Stroud for asking what she could do to help every time I looked stressed,
  • To Liz & Joyce (again) for arranging our two lovely songs,
  • And last but most definitely not least to Anita for keeping me sane since I took on this job. I can't thank her enough!

I have received lots of emails telling me how much you enjoyed the weekend, so thank you for that. We do still want your feedback, please contact Joyce Stroud if you have anything specific to pass on that might help for future events. Thank you one and all.
