Who is the course for?
The course is open to all LABBS or BABS members – but would be of particular interest to quartet singers, section leaders, music team members, directors, coaches, and anyone considering applying to the judge training programme. (see below).
When is the course happening?
13/01/24 Zoom - Intro and Musicality Day
13/04/24 Zoom – Performance Day
13/07/24 Zoom – Singing Day
16/11/24 In Person Day – ‘Bringing it all together’, Coventry (a school)
Zoom calls are planned for roughly 11am-3pm.
Do you need to attend all four days?
Ideally, we would like everyone to attend all four days – but if you can only attend one day or if you have a particular category that interests you – sign up for that day! Prospective judges and judges in training
must attend all four days.
Are there any course pre-requisites or preparation needed?
No preparation or previous knowledge is required, simply turn up, listen and take part in any interactive exercises and discussions.
How much does it cost?
We’re trying to keep costs to members to a minimum, so that lots of people can attend and take advantage of this opportunity. The first 3 days held on Zoom are FREE! There will be a small charge for the in-person day, which will be invoiced later in 2024 and a separate signup form should be filled out, which is being emailed to all delegates.
Who is running the course?
The course will be run by LABBS and BABS Judges in collaboration.
Are you thinking of applying to the judging programme in BABS or LABBS?
We have announced our new joint
recruitment and training programme. It is expected that anyone accepted into the training programme will have already completed the Foundation Course. If they have not had the opportunity to attend the course prior to application, they must attend a course at some point in their training.
