Our 2023 Convention will be held at Harrogate International Centre

Latest Update:

  • Advance Online Convention registration has now closed.  Registration can be bought at the event.
  • The pricing table for the passes available for all-events, individual days, for different age groups and delegate types is available on the convention registration page

  • Online convention registration will close at 23:59 on 14th September, and all contestants MUST have registered by that date. 
  • After online registration closes on 14th September, non-competitors may purchase all-events or day passes as appropriate on-the-door at the event.
We are planning for a full convention experience including contests, shows and fringe events/marketplace.

Timings: Convention opening ceremony will be at 9:45am for a 10:00am contest start time on Friday morning, and the closing ceremony will be at approximately 1:15pm on Sunday.  These times may be subject to slight change.

This event will provide opportunity to reconnect with friends and fellow singers for a HUGE celebration of our community and hobby. 
 
There will be full quartet semi and finals contest rounds as usual, for qualifying quartets from Prelims, including Mixed Quartets in collaboration with BABS and SA Reg31, as well as the full chorus contest, with opportunities for non-competing choruses to perform to the most supportive audience anywhere.

What is Convention?

Convention is an annual opportunity for all members, family, and friends to get together.  It is essentially a chance for quartets and choruses to compete in a supportive and friendly way and is often a riot of colour and complex choreography.

In addition to competition, Convention also includes a schedule of education sessions - LABBS FRINGE - led by our own education team, often supported by external educators and our VIP guests.  All of this is topped off with two fabulous shows, showcasing our new champions and amazing guests.
 
As if that wasn't enough, each evening sees an opportunity to Afterglow - a traditional end to any barbershopping day when singers and guests meet to chat and sing until the early hours - with old friends and new.

The event is open to all, with the opportunity to drop in for a day or be emersed in both competition and education sessions for a full fun-packed 3 day weekend.
